I think I’m still struggling to understand how to interpret CHRONOS gene effect scores.
For my gene of interest, in my cancer type of interest the average gene effect score is about -0.9, while for all other cancers it is about -1.1. The q-value is significant, and the effect size is 0.175.
So what does this tell me? That my gene is essential in most cell lines but “less” essential in my cancer of interest? Does that mean it may have tumor suppressive functions in my cancer of interest?
Really appreciate the help in advance!
Hi Michelle, sorry we overlooked this. At 0.175, I would consider your gene of interest to be functionally indistinguishable in that cancer type from the average.
