NCI-H854 was annotated as a lung cancer in 2019, but is now annotated as a colorectal cancer model. Was there a documented reason for this change?
It is also annotated as being from a primary tumor, but the SampleCollectionSite is the lung. So if it is indeed colorectal cancer, should its origin be changed to Metastasis?
We may update cell lines cell line based on a few factors. In this case, Cellosaurus has noted the discrepancy that this line was indicated as originating from colon in PubMed=8806092 and in ATCC, from lung in PubMed=11030152 (and originally CCLE), and based on our expression data, this line does seem to be clustering in Celligner more closely with other colon models rather than lung. While this may not be definitive, it does appear to more closely represent a colon tumor.
I will be sure to add a comment for this cell line in the portal for any future use and we’ll continue to update this model as new information is available.
