Absolute copy number

The current data version has been upgraded to 24Q2, and there is also Gene-level absolute copy number data (OmicsAbsoluteCNGene.csv). Why is the copy number data displayed on the interface still from the CCLE 2019 version (Copy Number (Absolute))? Additionally, it is puzzling that the relative copy number displayed on the interface is from the 24Q2 version (Copy Number Public 24Q2 (Log2 transformed)).

For a long time, the only non-relative CN calls we had were from the CCLE 2019 paper. However, in 24Q2 we started producing our own absolute calls using PureCN, but we didn’t switch Data Explorer to use those at that time.

Now with the 24Q4 release, we’ve replaced the CCLE 2019 absolute calls with the ones from PureCN. We still use the relative calls as the default but you can now choose the absolute calls that are part of the release.

Thanks,
Phil
