Growth rates (doubling times)

In previous releases of the cell line annotation table (e.g. Cell_lines_annotations_20181226.txt) there are doubling times provided for a decent number of cell lines. This data does not appear in any of the more recent annotation tables, and I’m curious about two things:

  1. How reliable are the values in the old tables? Did they get removed just to clean up the table, or are there reasons to not trust the old data?
  2. Are there any plans to publish this data for the more complete set of CCLE lines?

Thank you!

Good question! The answer to 1 is “not reliable at all.” Different assessments of doubling time for cell lines varied wildly. So, for right now, there are no plans to publish doubling times.
