In the expression data (both when accessed through the Custom Downloads feature, and when downloading the complete data file) of at least 26Q1 and 25Q3 Public releases there is no data on expression of the SOD2 gene.
To my knowledge there was no discontinuation of this gene name usage, and the search function of the DepMap portal provides the overview for this gene with multiple analyses results.
It seems that the SOD2 gene column is present in the table (the header at least), but is empty of any data.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. It appears to be a result of the GTF in our expression pipeline being out of sync with what’s used for the DepMap portal. In our GTF (GENCODE v38), SOD2 is attached to ENSG00000112096, while in the portal SOD2 is mapped to ENSG00000291237.
We are in the process of consolidating our references to resolve edge cases like this, but in the meantime, you could find expression of SOD2 by its ENSG ID in OmicsExpressionTPMLogp1HumanAllGenes from our download page.
